Young LS (fka Lil Shotta) is part of a new wave of Liverpudlian rap artists that are breaking into the UK mainstream and the consciousness of avid rap fans alike.
Mysterious, unassuming and yet a highly skilled lyricist, his debut release (over 15 million views on YouTube), entitled ‘Little Blonde’, gained huge popularity across social media and not only propelled Young LS into the spotlight, but also helped to further cement Liverpool’s status as a city that can produce exceptional rap talent as well as the rock and pop icons it has historically been known for.
At just under 3-minutes long and laced with catchy punchlines, heady lyrics and a stoic flow, ‘Little Blonde’ took over the digital space upon release and features melodic elements akin to the ‘mumble’ rap style that became a mainstay in US Hip-Hop circles at the time.
Fast-forward to 2025 and by this point, not only has Young LS been featured on the hugely popular YouTube series and platform ‘Next Up?’ by Mixtape Madness, performed live at the inaugural ’Size? Sessions Festival’ and collaborated with multiple artists including Tom Zanetti, Loski and Mowgs, but his song ‘Real Like That’ secured a sync placement in episode 7 of the hit BBC crime drama series set in Liverpool, ‘The City is Ours’.
An unmistakable Scouse accent, with laidback flair, Young LS remains an exciting and authentically British artist proposition with global appeal.
